Our Lineage
The Karma Kagyu Lineage
Goshir Chenrezig Klang follows the Karma Kagyu tradition, one of the four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism. The Karma Kagyu is known as the “Golden Rosary” — an unbroken chain of enlightened masters who have passed down the authentic teachings of Buddha from teacher to student for over 900 years.
Goshir Gyaltsap Rinpoche
Our center is under the guidance of His Eminence the 12th Goshir Gyaltsap Rinpoche, the “Throne Holder” of the Karma Kagyu lineage. The Gyaltsap Rinpoche lineage serves as the primary deputy of the Gyalwang Karmapa, holding the authority of the Karmapa’s throne.
The 12th Goshir Gyaltsap Rinpoche was born in 1951 in Lhokha, Tibet. He was recognized and enthroned by His Holiness the 16th Gyalwang Karmapa. In January 2024, Rinpoche graciously visited our center for the first time in 34 years, a historic milestone for our community.
